The staff of Little River Outdoors is comprised of two of the most recognized outdoors figures in the greater Salem, OH area.  They were both born at a very early age and since that time they have both individually and collectively become icons in the world of outdoor outfitters.  So you wanna know more about these guys?

Darryl is the Founder and CEO of LRO.  He says that he's pretty sure he killed his first deer when he was 2 years old but he doesnt remember it. Growing up in the hills of East Tennessee he honed his hunting skills by pursuing  the wary and  ever dangerous gray squirrel. The vast knowledge he gained in those early years laid the groundwork for the time when he would notice that there was a lot more meat on a deer than on a squirrel and so began in earnest to become a proficient deer hunter. A mere 5 years later upon killing his second deer (this one he remembers) he concluded that the reason there was more meat on a deer than on a sqirrel was that a deer was much bigger! And so began a lifelong quest resulting in  the development of what some people would call a very unique approach to hunting. And now,through Little River Outdoors the message AND the methods are now made available to the common hunter. As Darryl has always said, before you can eat the deer you must first kill the deer!

Blake is the Vice President of LRO.  Back in the early days of his life he stumbled across a great revelation, namely that there were people who hunted and then there were people who didn't hunt.  So because of this great realization of cultural anthropoloy(study of people and their hobbies-so he says), Blake decided that he would be a part of those people who were hunters.  It was this defining moment of decision that has changed his way of thinkin and livin.  Several years later he shook hands with a man named Darrryl and the rest is history! Ever since that day the world has not been the same!  Because he made that firm choice to be a hunter years ago, he is now reaping the benefits and is doing his dead level best to spread his vision of the outdoors through this mechanism called Little River Outdoors.  Because he understands that for those who hunt, it IS what we do!
